Announcements

We’ve backed off in good faith to try and give you a chance to straighten this problem out. But I am going to beg with you for a minute. I'm going to plead with you, do not cross us. Because if you do, the survivors will write about what we do here for 10,000 years.”

Next Meeting

Our next regular meeting will be held on Thursday, Sep 20 beginning at 1830.  It will be held at our regular meeting place on the lower floor of the American Legion Post 74 building in Shadwell.

Annual Spring Picnic

Our annual Spring Picnic will take place on Thursday, July 19 beginning at 1830.  It will be held at the Elks Club Pavilion off Hwy 20 (see Map below), our usual location, and is free to members and guests.  We’ll send out a call for headcount closer to the date.  We typically hold the picnic in June but due to venue conflicts we’re moving it to July this year.  As a result there will be no regular meeting in June.

American Legion Post 74 Needs You!

As many of you know American Legion Post 74 allows us the use of their building for our meetings and events with no charge.  While we have made and plan to continue making an annual $250 contribution to the Post, Lowell Badgley asked that all of our members who are not also American Legion members consider joining Post 74.  It’s easy to do and costs just $35 a year for dues.  To join just call Nannette Hartman at 434-977-1050. It would be a great way to say thanks for all of their support to our detachment.

Memorial Day Activity

Tom Campbell will present the detachment’s wreath at this year’s VFW sponsored Memorial Day ceremony.  The ceremony will be held on Monday, May 28 at the Sprint Pavilion on the Downtown Mall beginning at 1100.
