Next Meeting

Our next regular meeting will be on Thursday, 2/15/18 and will be held at our regular meeting place, the American Legion Post 74 building.  Between now and then we have one special event, our Holiday Dinner and Dance on 12/14/17.  Details on the event are provided below.


Holiday Dinner & Dance Event

Our next social event will be held at the Elk’s club off Hwy 20 in Charlottesville.  Our annual Holiday Dinner & Dance will be held on Thursday, 12/14 starting at 1830.  The cost will be $20 per person (16 and older).  We need to get a headcount by Sunday, 12/10 so please send an email to Phil Beard (btamcl1256@gmail.com) to let us know if you will attend and how many people will be in your group.  A map is provided below


Women Marines 100th Anniversary

The 100th Anniversary of the Women Marines is on 2/13/18.  We have a regularly scheduled meeting on 2/15/18 - Details to follow.

Camp Lejeune Water Contamination Benefits

The Veterans Administration has identified a group of qualifying conditions that are related to the Camp LeJeune water contamination.  A list of the conditions and other details can be found at the following web site: http://www.publichealth.va.gov/exposures/camp-lejeune/.  We have a local Veterans Service Representative, Pamela Zirkle, who can be very helpful in getting related claims filed and processed. If you are not now on active duty the detachment needs to maintain a copy of your DD214 on file.  Please send a copy to:
