We’ve backed off in good faith to try and give you a chance to straighten this problem out. But I am going to beg with you for a minute. I'm going to plead with you, do not cross us. Because if you do, the survivors will write about what we do here for 10,000 years.”

Next Meeting

Our next regular meeting will be held on Thursday, 19 April, 2019 beginning at 1830.  It will be held at our regular meeting place on the lower floor of the American Legion Post 74 building in Shadwell.

April Meeting Meal and a Movie

Standby for action from WWII with the showing of the WWII classic movie, “Gung Ho”.  The good folks at Mission BBQ will cater dinner to go with the movie.

Annual Dogwood Vietnam Memorial Rededication

This year’s Dogwood Vietnam Memorial Rededication will be held on  Friday, 26 April, beginning at 1100.  As he has done in the past Commandant Jim O’Kelley will recognize three more local servicemen lost in the Vietnam War with the dedication of plaques to their memory.  All members are encouraged to attend and wear their covers.

Previously available event parking on the Memorial side of the 250 Bypass has been lost to the new skate park. The city expects folks who want to go to the Memorial to park at the Rescue Squad and walk across 6 lanes of traffic. An article about this appeared in the Daily Progress this week. The effect on those with mobility issues seems to have been lost on the City and there are significant ADA concerns here. We are all urged to come out in force, and particularly invite anyone who might need a mobility aid and would be willing to let the city see this unsatisfactory situation.
